I don't know if you've noticed all the gorgeous coffins for Halloween out there. There is plenty of ways to do this. My tutorial is completely inspired by the tutorial found here at Whiff of joy.
You can choose whether you want the casket and lid in two pieces or make it in a one piece like I've done Secondly you can choose whether you want to draw your own template or do as I have, size the finished template and print it on an A4 piece of paper. The template is such a perfect treat and why not use that if you can?
With compliments to Karina from Whiff of joy;
1.Here's my finished cut out piece for starters:
2. Secondly you want to distress the edges to get a halloween look and glue the sides together.
3. Then I chose to cut out DP by drawing the shapes on to design paper like this:
4. My pieces are ready to go on to the box:
I've cut the shapes a tiny weeny bit smaller than the sides of the coffin.
5. Here's my coffin with the DP's attached to all the sides:
6. I've cut and embossed some pieces to go inside the lid and casket. This is optional, but I think it gives a neat look:
7. Time to decorate the inside of the box:
and then decorate the front:
Image from the sides:
Notice I've made some openings for the lid to close;)
and inside of the box:
and the finished front with the lid open:
Hope you enjoyed my tutorial and please check the rest of the inspiration from my superb teamies for this challenge!!Hope I get to see some more coffins in blogland;)

Tip : These little pouches were created digitally (image, purple digi papers, digi ribbon, pillow box template) so that I only have to print, colour, cut, fold and add a couple of pearls and a rustic bow. It makes them easy to mass produce and fill with treats to give to the little witches and ghosts who visit on Halloween.

Tip: When embellishing a halloween projects, cheesecloths give a nice and spooky feel to it;)
Tip: I don't have a lot of decorative corner dies so I look to my Spellbinders and other dies for possible corners...I used a corner piece from Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares for a decorative corner touch.

Tip: When punching hole in your card that NEED to line up first use your pokey tool to mark where the holes will go through all the layers this way you can then see where to punch.
